As part of its unique ‘one stop shop’ manufacture of pressure vessels, Rednal had been cold forming its own dished ends for the past 20 years. With years of experience of welding pressure vessels we are perfectly positioned to assist and advise on the requirements and possibilities to any request.
A contract specific spherical radius is formed using specialist hydraulic presses. Following this the required knuckle radius is spun using flanging units.
Male and female moulds are assembled on the central part. On the female mould, shims are inserted and eventually removed when the disc takes the shape of a cap. Beading is done with an oil-pressure hemmer. The shape required is created through wiping and pushing the beading roll that composes the cap near the shape roll.
Thermal treatments can be provided if requested by the customer in order to satisfy current rules. Ends can be made in carbon steel, stainless and nickel alloys. Rednal carries a stock of pre-tested pressure steels in stock which means that they are immediately available for supply.
